Cardiac Risk in the Young Verified by JustGiving
RCN 1050845 (England & Wales), SC052581 (Scotland)
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Ben was a member of Edinburgh RC who excelled in cycling, He took part in all forms of cyce sport, on tarmac, boards, grass and mud. His abilities were evidenced by his win in the U16 Boys' Circuit Race Championships in 2013 and as the overall winner of the 2012 Strathpuffer 24 hour mtb race in an U15 team. This appeal coincides with the Inch Park Cyclocross in September.

Following his death in 2018 the club has memorialised him by promoting the spring Ben Forsyth Youth Race Day and by collecting money to screen young athletes for heart conditions. Your contribution will help those who follow their passion just as Ben had done.

---------

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.

With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.

By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
