Story
I’m running the Leeds 10K in June 2026 to raise money for Leeds Asylum Seekers’ Support Network (LASSN), a Leeds-based charity working with people who’ve had to leave their homes and rebuild their lives.
People arriving in the UK as refugees or seeking asylum often arrive with very little: unstable housing, limited English, and huge uncertainty about what comes next. LASSN steps in at the practical end — helping people find somewhere safe to stay, learn English at home, and avoid being completely alone in a new city.
This is about small, solid things that make life bearable: a safe place to sleep, being able to talk to a GP without fear of not being understood, and a few familiar faces when everything else still feels unsteady.
I’m not a natural runner, and 10K will hurt. But it’s a small, chosen discomfort compared to what many people LASSN supports are dealing with. If you’re able to donate, you’ll be helping keep this practical work going in Leeds.
Thank you for backing me
