The Wild Goose Centre is for people experiencing homelessness and hunger. A hot meal, fresh laundry, a shower, support and advice, offered to all.

Story

Proverbs 31:8-9 NIV

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute."

I have decided to sleep out to raise funds for The Wild Goose drop-in cafe, a service for the vulnerable in Bristol. This will involve spending one night "sleeping rough" in the centre of Bristol with others who are fundraising.

The Wild Goose continuously helps so many people in Bristol who are homeless or in need. They provide hot meals, fresh laundry, a shower, support and advice, to all who come through their doors. They are literal lifesavers. Yet still there is a huge need for donations and support from volunteers to keep these essential services running for the many people who rely daily on The Wild Goose's work.

In sleeping out for one night I won't come close to experiencing what it is like to be homeless and would not wish to. Rather, I would only like my decision to do this to demonstrate my solidarity with those facing multiple deprivations including homelessness and to be a reminder that anyone can find themselves in this situation. I cannot sleep comfortably in my bed at home knowing what people are facing every night on the street.

So I invite you to join me in supporting this vital cause. Thank you!
