Batten disease is a group of rare, progressive neurodegenerative, genetic metabolic diseases that occur in children & adults worldwide. The BDFA's Vision is to be the central point of excellence in the UK for supporting affected families funding research into a potential cure.

Story

A Group of Suffolk school friends are walking all 60 miles of the Suffolk coast line in support of young Alfie Owen, his family and others impacted by infantile Batten Disease, a rare, incurable neurodegenerative disease.

The two day walk is raising money for the Batten Disease Family Association whose mission is to support those affected by this traumatising disease. They offer informed guidance to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively increasing awareness of the disease and funding future research to identify potential therapies and ultimately a range of cures.

Please donate as much as you can to this charity that does such a wonderful job supporting the sufferers and families of this devastating disease.
