Story

You May, or may not know me. If you don't, this is the story of what i aim to do, and why.

My partner's son Liam passed away last year at the age of 13. He had a condition called BPAN. it became regressive and meant that Liam sadly faced the prospect of a shortened life. In the time he and i had together before he passed, I have honestly never witnessed such strength from both Liam and his mother Natasha. It inspired me so much that last year i decided to try and push myself and walk the west highland way in 3 days for charity. The charity i chose was CHAS due to how supportive they had been , both to Liam himself and Natasha. I wanted to try and do my bit to help. I managed to complete it and it was incredibly tough.

Since Liam's passing, in memory of him and the struggle he faced all his life, combined with the strength, love and passion shown by Natasha, I've decided to try and attempt a challenge that feels almost impossible, yet something that doesn't even come close to what Liam faced his whole life. I am going to try and walk the 96 miles of the west highland way in one continuous push over August the 8th and 9th. As crazy and as hard as this sounds, I'll be giving everything i have inside me to try and complete this.

The charity I've chosen is a charity that really helped in the time after Liam's passing. They are called Together for short lives. They created some special items for Natasha and incredibly personal pieces to remember Liam at no cost to grieving family. Having seen first hand the impact that makes, i want to try and support their work for other families faced with such devastating events.

You Can read about them and the wonderful work they do here....

I'm not taking this lightly and will be traning, buying kit and trying to get into the shape of my life (at 44) to make This possible. Any support you can give would be so amazing and mean so much to both me and the charity I'm supporting. Thank you for reading, and follow my journey wherever you can 🫶
