A sort and sweet message from Mike Wykes

Hi, my eldest son Ben(ironically he is a barber) and I have decided to repeat a head shave I did in 2019 before my stem cell transplant to support Myeloma UK. On March 17, 2025, both of us will be shaving our heads and beards to raise funds for myeloma research.
Those that know me will be know that I have been having chemotherapy for incurable multiple myeloma cancer for 9 years. Sadly as is the way of life, more recently I have been diagnosed with a secondary cancer Adenocarcinoma in my bowel, abdomen and lungs. I have been given a terminal diagnosis within two years.
My goal is to raise £1000, made up from the cost of a coffee that you would buy on a weekly basis and a £5 plus gift aid, I hope we can achieve it. By donating through JustGiving, you can help make a direct impact on the fight against cancer.
Your contribution will truly make a difference. Too late for me but may just help those that follow on. Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving

*******EDIT AND UPDATE*******
Unfortunately bad news everyone.
Sunday 9th March in the early hours Dad passed away from a quick and sudden bout of pneumonia along with his other illnesse. Having battled Myeloma and along with his terminal diagnosis in December of Adenocarcinoma, his lungs deteriorated quite fast when he caught pneumonia. He left us peacefully with his two sons by his side.
He was truly loved as a father and grandfather. A great friend, character and colleague. He very much left a lasting impression on anyone he met. He was beautiful inside and out.
Seeing the support for his fundraiser he got filled him with so much joy and he was adamant he would be out of hospital for it as it was his idea. So thank you to anyone who supported him. YES It will still go ahead,
If anything in his memory as he would have wanted.
He was the most beautiful soul.
Michael Wykes you will be forever missed.
“Love you loads, take care, bye bye”
