Benji is just 8 years old, but he's taking on one of the UK's toughest mountain challenges – the Welsh 3000s. His goal is to climb all 15 peaks over 3,000ft in Eryri (Snowdonia) in a single day and finish in under 18 hours, while raising money for Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue.

Hi, I'm Benji. I'm 8 years old and I live in Llanberis.

I love running in the mountains, and my favourite place in Wales is the Ogwen Valley. I've been exploring the mountains with my mum since I was a baby, and it makes me super happy!

I want to give something back to one of my favourite places, so I'm taking on the Welsh 3000s to raise money for Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue.

The challenge involves climbing all 15 mountains over 3,000ft in Eryri in one continuous journey, around 50 km (31 miles) with nearly 4,000 metres of climbing.

The volunteers at Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue give up their own time to help people whenever they're needed in the mountains. They do an amazing job keeping people safe.
