My name is Benjy, and I am in year 13 at Exeter School, about to sit my A-Levels in Spanish, English Literature and Drama. I am fundraising to spend 8 months volunteering with the charity Project Trust in Peru.

During my placement, departing in January 2027, I will be working in local schools, supporting teachers and helping students develop their English, while integrating into the wider community.

Project Trust placements are mutually beneficial, and my placement is a great opportunity for me to develop both personally and academically. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to improve my Spanish through full immersion in everyday life, as well as gaining greater independence, resilience and important life skills. It will also be a very eye-opening experience living in a different culture and working in a different education system.

To take part in this placement, I need to raise £6,850 to cover flights, accommodation, training, insurance and a basic living allowance, anything outside this, such as trips around the country will be funded by me.

I have a lot of plans for my fundraising, which I will start following my A-Levels. These include working multiple part-time jobs, running a quiz night and some drama workshops for younger children, as well as organising some cake sales for the local community.
