Ben’s fundraiser for East Anglia's Children's Hospices in memory of J-Jay

Clare Thomas is raising money for East Anglia's Children's Hospices
In memory of J-Jay Wood

I will run 100km in June 2025

We care for children & young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambs, Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk and support their families. This can be at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton, The Treehouse and The Nook. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Ben is using it as he isn’t old enough to have his own.

My name is Ben 😊 and I have decided to run 100km in June to raise money for EACH because they looked after my best friend when he was sick!

In November 2022 my best friend J-Jay died of cancer, we were only 10, in year 6 and he had been fighting cancer since year 4. During this time EACH looked after J-Jay and made sure he got to stay at home with his family. This meant I got to see J-Jay all the time and we got to make memories together instead of J-Jay being in a hospice. J-Jay couldn’t walk anymore so our favourite things to do together were play video games, spend time in the garden and play with his dog Yoshi.

I miss J-Jay everyday and want to raise money for the people who cared for him, in his memory by running at least 100km in June, that’s the equivalent of 25km a week. Please sponsor me if you can!

Thank you, Ben 🥰
