Welsh Three Peaks Challenge - Widowed & Young

Ben Thorpe is raising money for WAY - Widowed And Young
In memory of Andrew Naylor

Welsh Three Peaks · 13 June 2026

WAY offers a peer-to-peer support to anyone whose partner died when they were aged 50 or under, married or not, with or without children, inclusive of sexual orientation, gender, race and religion.

Story

On 3rd February, our good friend Andy died of a sudden heart attack. He was fit & healthy and enjoyed life to the fullest! Whether it was going to gigs, hiking up mountains or sharing a beer & food with mates.

He leaves behind his beautiful wife Lucy, and for anyone who knows these two, they were inseparable. They did everything together; gigs, adventures, holidays, hikes, the last ones up by the tents after a day at a festival & first ones up in the morning sorting breakfast. They were soul mates. And it's with this in mind that I'd like to raise money for Widowed & Young, who have been supporting Lucy at this extremely tough time and support over 4000 young widows across the UK.

On 13th June, (Andy's Birthday), Joe, Luke & Myself will be attempting to summit the three highest peaks in Wales in under 24 hours. Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) in the north, Cadair Idris in mid-Wales, and Pen y Fan in the south. It will involve 17 miles of walking, over 7,657ft of ascent, and driving between them.
