Story
I first visited Unity School in 2007 and they have been close to my heart since then. I last got to visit in May 2025 and whilst we have managed to find some sort of new normal following Covid, the students and staff at Unity haven't. Where things were pretty stable, the school is now living day to day. I have therefore decided to walk/cycle to Mombasa in the next few months. As many of you will know exercise does not come naturally to me so 6121miles is not going to come easy. If you can encourage me with a donation I would really appreciate it.
Below is a little from the Friends of Mombasa Children about their campaign.
Feed the students at Unity Freretown School, Mombasa
We need your help to keep feeding the 400+ students at Unity Freretown School in Mombasa. The Friends of Mombasa Children have been supporting this school for over 20 years and have seen first hand the impact of trying to learn on an empty stomach. Students fall asleep, can't focus and miss school school for illness more frequently.
The costs associated with feeding the students have increased dramatically since the end of the pandemic and we need your help to make sure we give these young people their best possible chance to escape the poverty they were born into. Please donate whatever you can.
