Story

Berkshire Youth has been dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people across Berkshire since 1940. Some of the young people we support at Berkshire Youth have the weight of the world on their young shoulders – whether it’s anxiety, problems at home or other issues. We aim to lighten their load by providing a safe space with trusted adults, where conversations happen and positive relationships develop that can have a transformative effect on wellbeing, helping young people to develop skills to tackle any barriers they face. Ultimately, enabling them to become the best version of themselves they can be and contribute positively to society.

The impact of our work is profound. Prevention is always more effective than intervention and crisis management. Changing the course of a young person’s life is at the heart of what we do, and last year alone, we recorded over 52,000 attendances at our youth provisions.

Berkshire Youth’s reach spans the entire county, offering something for everyone—from fun leisure activities to essential support services. Together, we’re creating safer spaces, encouraging personal growth, and ensuring that no young person in Berkshire is left behind.

Berkshire Youth is funded solely by donations and support from individuals and companies. With your support and generosity, we help over 12,000 young people each year, providing them with things to do and places to go.
