Story

In April 2026, I will be taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a second time! A charity close to my heart is Refuge UK, helping those who have experienced domestic abuse. After sharing my story with Refuge, I am very grateful and proud to have been invited by Refuge to represent this amazing charity.

Before last year’s run, our family had a lot thrown at us in a very short space of time, which made it incredibly difficult to train consistently. Despite that, I exceeded my expectations. My main goal was to complete the half marathon in memory of my boys and raise as much as I could—and I’m so proud to have surpassed my target, raising £1,000. I also beat my estimated finish time by 45 minutes.

This year, I’m hoping to shave off even more time. The day itself and the atmosphere were honestly incredible—I truly believe no half marathon compares to this one. I wanted to take in every moment, and I don’t regret taking my phone out to capture and hold onto those special memories along such an amazing route (some snippets are in the video above).

I am running to stand strong with other survivors who have experienced domestic abuse like myself, raise awareness, and help break the cycle. Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference. Every donation can help someone escape abuse and rebuild their life.

They offer refuges, helplines, and guidance, help children affected by abuse, raise awareness, and campaign for stronger protections.
