We are Bernadine and Carol, the Novelettes! We've never done anything like this before, and it's going to be a real challenge. On the evening of Friday14th March 2025 we are taking part in the London Walk, organised by the London Homeless Collective, to raise really vital funds for Streetwise Opera. Streetwise Opera is a charity using opera and singing to empower and inspire people affected by homelessness to make positive changes and reinvent themselves as artists.

This walk brings charities working in homelessness in the city together to walk as one through Central London. Walking through the night offers an opportunity for reflection on the experience of people who are homeless - not just people who are forced to sleep on the streets but those who walk through the night, travel on night buses or access 24 hour retail sites in order to stay awake and stay safe. In particular young people, trans people and women are all especially vulnerable to violence and exploitation.

There are three routes of varying lengths, and we hope to walk at least 10K. Please consider supporting us and Streetwise Opera!
