She’s only bloody doing it again!!
No less than 2.5 years after the first time, I’ve signed up to the White Collar Fight Club to challenge myself again and raise money for a charity extremely close to my heart.
Anyone that knows me knows I’m a massive, vocal advocate for mental health. Recently, as we get older, we’re seeing more and more people succumbing to their struggles. It’s incredibly sad because it doesn’t need to end this way, and I want more and more for us to be able to have these conversations to start breaking the stigma with all that surrounds it. Because it’s a human response to feel lonely, or unloved, or a burden, or worthless, these are all human responses to the ways of the world and the ways of our histories and the more we can speak openly about these things the less we will feel like the anomaly.
Having been through my own many ups and downs, I know how it can feel to hit a rock bottom, a worthless feeling that all of the love in the world just can’t seem to penetrate. But I also know, and I thank my lucky stars for this, that there’s a way through it too, there is another side with a happy ending when you get the right help.
This is why CALM is such an important charity to me, because these conversations are so important. I had the choice to raise money for another charity if I wanted to do, but it just didn’t feel right, when CALM already means so much to me.
If you can spare any pennies I’d be very grateful! :)
CALM is there for everyone struggling with life, no matter who they are, where they're from or what they're going through. Whether that be mental health issues, debt, addiction, job loss, divorce, homelessness, they've got your backs.
It only costs £12.20 to fund a potentially life-saving call. And your support will help CALM continue to be there for anyone who needs them.
