Beth and Tom's Bath Half Marathon

Bath Half Marathon 2024 · 17 March 2024 ·
We want a new challenge for 2024, and what better than The Bath Half Marathon. But, this run is not just about personal achievement; it's about making a difference in the lives of children who need our help. We are running to support an incredible cause - The Grand Appeal.
Having worked in Seahorse Intensive Care Unit for 7 years, I've met hundreds of brave, courageous patients and their families, and want to give back!
Tom and I are taking on the challenge of running the Bath Half to raise funds for the unit I so lovingly work in, and incredible colleagues.
I’m not a stranger to clocking a few miles in my trainers for charity, having completed the London Marathon, Half’s in Cardiff & Reading, and a Tough Mudder. But that shows I’m not a quitter and your sponsorship will go the whole way (13.1 miles in fact)!
I run, but I wouldn't class myself as a runner. Until now. Other than the odd 5km parkrun on a Saturday morning, I've not taken part in an official running event, only ever as a spectator.
I want to take this opportunity to cross a personal achievement off the list but more importantly, raise money for a fantastic cause. I know about all the brilliant work that Beth and her team do to make sure children receive the best care at Bristol Children's Hospital, so it's an honour to try and raise a bit of money along the way.
The Grand Appeal is a charity that works tirelessly to transform the lives of children at Bristol Children's Hospital. They fund groundbreaking medical equipment, vital facilities, and life-changing arts and play programs, all with the goal of providing world-class care for young patients and their families. The Grand Appeal ensures that every child who steps into Bristol Children's Hospital receives the best possible care.
