SWIMMING 8 KILOMETERS?! OPEN WATER?!

If you know, you'll know I was never a long-distance swimmer! Anything over 200m would turn my stomach, so this is a huge personal challenge for me. However, the cause couldn't be closer to my heart.

Heronsbridge is a Special School situated in Bridgend, where I had the pleasure of working as the school's Paediatric Physiotherapist for almost 2 years. Heronsbridge supports children from ages 5-19, with a variety of mental and physical disabilities to achieve their absolute maximum potential. I have seen firsthand the utterly spectacular support and guidance the Heronsbridge staff give to their pupils. I was constantly inspired by the incredible children I was able to work with, it made every day an absolute joy. I will always look back on my time at Heronsbridge with the fondest of memories!

So, I am looking to raise money for 'Friend of Heronsbridge' which is the charity associated with the school. In particular, I am looking to raise money for an Acheeva bed, which is a wonderful piece of Physiotherapy equipment that can accommodate all children, in particular those with the most severe disabilities. This was a piece of equipment that I utilized a lot whilst I was there, and at present the school only had one Acheeva for 20-30 pupils. Therefore, I would be extremely grateful for your support, small or big - you are truly supporting a wonderful cause.
