Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page ☺️
Some of you may already know that in March earlier this year, just after my 25th birthday, I was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a lifelong condition whereby the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the brain and nerves.
There are so many different symptoms that come with MS that are experienced on a daily basis, and sadly MS in some cases can cause disabling symptoms.
For me my MS journey started with significantly impaired vision in my left eye last August, followed by numbness of my hands, arms and legs starting in January this year. Both these experiences are known as relapses which can last anywhere from a few days to a few months and cause lasting damage.
MS is an invisible disability and everyday is a different day that comes with different challenges.
Whilst there is currently no cure, there are disease modifying treatments (DMT’s) to help manage the symptoms and help reduce further disability. I recently started on a DMT in June which is hopefully working towards preventing future damage and disability.
In recent years - research into MS is progressing and developing but funding is much needed for this to happen.
In order to contribute towards these developments, myself, my partner Benny and three of my closest friends; Jade, Frankie & Jordan will be hiking up Mount Snowdon in September in aid of the MS Society.
Donations would go towards research into new treatments; and ways to help people live better with MS. The MS Society can then keep working towards a future free from the effects of MS, for everyone.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I really appreciate any contributions and sharing of my page to raise awareness of MS and raise money for a great charity.
