Story
In April 2026, Tommy and I will be taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Lymphoma Action, for my Mum.
Back in September 2022, Mum was diagnosed with Non-Hogdkin's Follicular Lymphoma, a type of incurable blood cancer.
Since then, she's had 6 months of chemotherapy and 2 years of infusions of immunotherapy, which she'll (finally) finish in February. It's been a long, tough road that she's managed amazingly well. From February, Mum should be able to live life a little more freely — although she’ll be in a period of careful monitoring, knowing the lymphoma is likely to return at some point.
The positive news is that new treatments are constantly being developed, meaning people like Mum have more options when the cancer does come back.
That’s why raising money is so important. Lymphoma Action focuses on the provision of vital information and support for people affected by lymphoma and their families, as well as ensuring their voices are heard loud and clear by those making decisions about care and treatment provisions.
If you know me, you know that running isn't really my thing. So this really is quite the challenge. But it's one that I'm so proud to be able to do, to raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause and to raise awareness for all those fighting Lymphoma.
Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
