Story
I always thought that running a half marathon was something I would never achieve. I have never done running as a regular activity and thought that it was something I was not very good at. However, this year I have decided to push myself and follow in my brother's footsteps and join him in running the Great North run in September.
I have chosen to run for the charity Mind as, like most of us, mental health problems have had a large impact on my life and the lives of those around me. The services the Mind provide are important in supporting people who may be struggling and by doing this event I hope to help keep these available to anyone who may need them.
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling. Mind believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. They'll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner.
