Story
This April, I'll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of my nana who sadly passed away last year.
My nana, fondly known as Gigi or formally known as Janet Till, was one of the kindest, most caring people you could ever meet. She had a heart of gold and a passion for life’s simple joys—whether that was hunting for treasures at charity shops and car boot sales or spending hours in her beloved garden. I still get a pang in my chest every time I think about picking up the phone to ask her if it’s time to start certain gardening tasks or just to hear her iconic "hiiiiiiiiya". I miss her more than words can say.
She was loved by so many, full of warmth and a bit of cheeky humor. When I told her I was running the Manchester Marathon last year, she just laughed and said, “Why on earth would you want to do that?”—and honestly, I didn’t have a good reason! But this year, I do.
This run is for you, Gigi. 💛
Treetops provided exceptional care and support for both my nana and grandad in their final days, giving them comfort and dignity when it mattered most.
This run isn’t just about crossing the finish line—it’s about honoring their memory, supporting an incredible charity, and making a difference for families who need the same compassionate care. 💛
