Story
Beth is taking part in the non-stop, 268 mile race along the iconic Pennine Way.
The Montane Summer Spine is a non-stop, 268 mile race along the most iconic national trail in Britain; the Pennine Way. Beginning from Edale in Derbyshire, runners have a time limit of 156 hours to reach the elusive village of Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders. This is widely regarded as “Britain’s Most Brutal” endurance race. A truly epic challenge that will test physical resilience and mental fortitude. Racing non-stop and unsupported through day and night, Beth will experience the sheer breath taking magnitude of this route where summer temperatures can fluctuate from the high twenties down to zero overnight.
Let’s show Beth our support by sending over some sponsorship!
Needed: Replacement school minibus!
Our school minibuses are an essential tool for enabling school life. They provide vital and sustainable transport for numerous outings and trips throughout the year, weekly access to sports facilities in Hereford and, of course, the daily transport of pupils to and from school. They help minimise the environmental impact of travel and provide a convenient option for the many families who are able to use it morning and afternoon.
Two of our minibuses now need upgrading. One has recently been replaced, funded two-thirds from school reserves and one-third by Friends of the Steiner Academy Hereford.
We now need to start raising funds so that we can replace the other one. Our target is to raise £20,000 by the middle of 2025!
We know this is ambitious, but we also believe that where there is a will there is a way.
We invite all to put on their thinking caps and explore their fundraising ideas, however quirky! It could be just the motivation needed
