Story
I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for the incredible work of Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham. Back in 2016, when my husband Dave was diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, the hospice gave us hope, providing unwavering support to both of us. It’s been nine years since Dave passed away, and I still think about him every single day. Dave had a profound impact on so many people, and I am so grateful for the time we had together.
The fundraising initiatives have been a huge help in the healing process. It’s given me the chance to move forward and remember Dave in a positive way. My ultimate goal is to try and reach £250,000 to commemorate Dave’s 10th anniversary in 2027. Just another £50,000 to go !
This year, we’re celebrating our twelfth international challenge. Dave was a true adventurer, and he loved exploring the world and taking on challenging physical activities. He also loved raising funds for a cause that was important to both of us. It’s been a privilege to carry on his legacy and continue his journey.
Walking the path that Dave can no longer walk, climbing the mountain that he can no longer climb, and pedalling the bicycle that he can no longer ride is a gift that we’ve been given. It’s a reminder of the incredible person he was and the impact he had on our lives. We’ll never forget him, and we’ll always be grateful for the support of Nightingale House Hospice.
