Story

Hey Everyone,

On Saturday 26th April 2025 I am walking the Kiltwalk for Fertility Network Uk. I have posted a tik tok and youtube link with the reason why I am but if your not able to access that … Here is my story, In 2021 me and Jordan decided to start trying for our first baby. We thought it would happen straight away as you never think you’re going to be the one with the fertility issues. I started taking folic acid and tracking ovulation but every month that went past I never fell pregnant. In 2023 2 years into trying we went to the doctors and started our fertility process with NHS. In July 2023 I had heavy bleeding and the doctor advised I “may” have had a possible miscarriage but it would have been very early. I tried to take a positive and move on. 4 weeks later I did a pregnancy test at this point I had did well over 1000 pregnancy tests and never saw that positive. This time was different it had 2 lines. Me and Jordan were soooo excited we thought we had did it after 3.5 years!! We booked a 9 week scan and I contacted the NHS and got letters in for my 12 week scan. 6 weeks into my pregnancy I had some spotting and I booked a private scan straight away. I went to first glimpse in Glasgow which i could not recommend enough. Our little poppyseed was there with a heartbeat. We left feeling on cloud 9. I remember sitting all morning looking at the scan pictures feeling so happy. Little did we know that the next day I would be rushed to A&E with extreme heavy bleeding. I remember feeling so numb & the nurse who took my bloods said she “prayed” for everything to be ok and she had a tear in her eye. She told me she was going through fertility too and that’s always stuck with me. I hope she’s got her baby now. Unfortunately it was confirmed we had a miscarriage. Our hearts were broken.

5 years into our fertility journey and we are still trying and praying for our rainbow baby. We are going through treatment with the fertility clinic.

This is why I have chosen fertility Network Uk because over 3.5 million people in the Uk go through some kind of fertility challenge. It’s not a “one size fits all approach” when it comes to fertility and they offer a wide range of resources and support to people like me.
