Peeps are the only UK charity dedicated to supporting families touched by HIE.

HIE stands for Hypoxic-Ischaemic Encephalopathy and is a lack of oxygen and blood flow to the brain, most often happening around child birth.

Peeps were a lifeline to us when Zak was born. They helped me understand there were other people who understood the complexities of life with a child that has this condition; that no family is ever prepared for. Peeps have helped us so much over the past two years with music therapy for Zak and paid trips to sensory play centres. We like to give back each year and this year we are taking on the challenge of 8000 steps a day throughout August to raise money for the charity.

They also provide counselling, wellbeing and mental health support, bereavement support, funding for essential equipment, information and signposting, peer support, online wellbeing and information sessions.
