Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Normally people would start fundraising way before the event but we are going to be doing this event straight away and vlog as much as possible! Regardless, please donate, not as a “good luck” or “you got this” but as a “well done you did it!”
We decided to take a weekend away from the stresses of London lives to North Wales. Though our weekend is to purely relax and put everyone and everything behind, that’s really not our style or personality. So we’ve decided to do something for others anyway! On the morning of 1st October we are going to do something that we don’t really do or have experience of doing much and certainly not very prepared or equipped for! We are going to trek up Mount Snowdon which is going to be cold and wet, so thankfully we have some raincoats in the car and decent shoes! One of us has done this before but in the sunshine and the other has never done it and has a slight fear of heights! But why? In aid of what?
Friends of KAPSA (UK) is a registered UK charity.
KAPSA are a group of like-minded volunteers who care deeply about the health and well being of Kalkan’s street animals and wish to promote informed and compassionate action to improve the living conditions of all Kalkan’s animals.
All donations go straight into funding the costs of improving the health and welfare of these animals such as needed vets treatments, grooming, flea, tick and worming treatments, rehoming, arranging foster care and adoptions.
Why this charity? Thanks to my mums work with kapsa, it led us as a family to taking on Aslan, a dog left so poorly on the streets in Turkey, his rescuers didnt even know if he would survive a few more days. But with treatment and wonderful foster care and amazing transport staff, he was brought to the UK to be in his forever home!
KAPSA is a charity with a big mission on their hands, a tiny budget and is completely run by volunteers! Unlike big charities such as the ones you see on TV adverts, KAPSA have very little publicity and do not get the attention and awareness they deserve. So while they’re busy doing the good works, we are busy making them known!
