Story
Our beautiful son Baby Bob was born with congenital heart disease. He was diagnosed with a double outlet right ventricle and VSD (Taussig Bing Anomaly) and a hypoplastic arch.
At just 7 days old, Baby Bob had open heart surgery at Great Ormond Street and his surgery was a success. He is now 5 months old and has gone from strength to strength considering his start in the world.
We were “lucky” in that his CHD was diagnosed at our 20 week scan. Had our incredible sonographer not picked this up, who knows where we would be right now.
Tiny Tickers were introduced to us at our 20 week scan and have supported us ever since - and continue to do so. The least I can do is help raise money to give other heart parents and heart heroes the help we received.
Since giving birth, I haven’t done much exercise - so this challenge is also going to help me get fit so that I can be healthy for my son. If you can, a donation would be much appreciated no matter how small!
Every year in the UK, 1 in every 100 babies is born with a serious heart condition. For families, that diagnosis can change everything in an instant. This October, I’m taking on The 100 Challenge to help Tiny Tickers give babies with congenital heart disease the best possible start in life.
Your support could send comfort to a family facing a diagnosis, helping them feel less alone at a terrifying moment. It could connect parents with others who understand, or help train a sonographer to spot heart defects earlier.
Every gift helps improve early detection, provide trusted information, and support families when they need it most. Please donate if you can — your support really does help change what’s possible. 🩷
