Story
In 2026, I’ll be taking on not just one, but twochallenges — the London Landmarks Half Marathon and the London Marathon — in support of Brain Research UK.
Brain Research UK funds vital research into neurological conditions that affect millions of lives. By supporting my fundraising, you’ll be helping to bring hope, progress, and ultimately, change.
I’m running in honour of two very special people who have sadly passed away due to neurological conditions.
💙 My Dad suffered a stroke at 45 years old. The impact on his daily life was profound, and it took a toll on his mental health. He passed away in 2017, when I was 21. A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted by a clot or a rupture. Without oxygen-rich blood, brain cells begin to die within minutes. One in four stroke survivors is at risk for another stroke, but up to 80% of second strokes may be preventable.
💙 Tom Parker, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2020 and passed away just 18 months later at the age of 33. Glioblastoma is the most aggressive and common form of brain cancer in adults. It grows rapidly and is difficult to treat, the average survival after diagnosis is 12 to 15 months, even with treatment. Fewer than 5% of patients survive beyond five years.
Every step I take will be for them — and for everyone affected by brain conditions. Thank you so much for your support. 💫
