***UPDATE*** I did it!!! Loch Ness marathon complete and in one piece.

Each year I watch Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off and it talks of 1 in 2 people being impacted by cancer. This year it was my turn.

I was lucky. My thyroid cancer was diagnosed, operated on, and cured within a few months, caught very early, accidentally and symptomless.

I still had the support of a Macmillan Nurse, who was just incredible.

8 years ago, it was my mum's turn and she didn't have such a happy ending, dying of terminal malignant melanoma. This is for her too.

I realised that I must have run the Amsterdam marathon with cancer so combining the two seemed an obvious thing to do so on 27th September, I ran the Loch Ness Marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support.
