Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Not Another Fundraising Page

It’s that time of year when you’re inundated by people like me asking for support for some self inflicted pain. Given my habit of complaining about running I wasn’t going to do it this year.

But as some as you might know I lost my dad at the end of March after a battle with brain cancer. We probably don’t talk about death as much as we should. It isn’t an easy journey, but in his final hours the support and care of his Marie Curie nurse meant his passing was peaceful, and surrounded by family- and we will always be grateful for that.

End of life care is often not well enough funded to be available for all that need it, and we have to make sure that we do more to give people and their families the dignified ending they deserve.

So, this year I’ve chosen Marie Curie.

Thank you for your support (and those close to me your eternal patience 😂)
