IRR is run entirely by volunteers, every penny donated goes directly to rescuing dogs. IRR's ethos is WELFARE FIRST, every dog is given every chance, no dog is too old, too sick or too expensive & we offer lifetime financial support to adopters of dogs with pre-existing medical conditions.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Please hold this precious little chap in your thoughts.

He was collected yesterday following the ISPCA asking for our help when they found him whilst closing down a breeder.

He has an issue with his front leg, possibly with both. Due to our close relationship with a specialist vet in Ireland we were able to get him in after they juggled their appointments to accommodate us!

He has had a CT scan to ascertain whether there is an actual birth deformity or it is a result of malnutrition affecting his growth plates 😢

He is in shocking body condition for an under 6 month old pup 😢

Poor boy doesn’t even have a name…. But will do as our amazing vet has been given the privilege of naming him ❤️

The team at IRR work so hard to ensure that every dog rescued receives the best medical treatment required if needed, spends quality time in their foster home before a new loving home is found for them and in some case recieve life long medical care.

Sadly rescue costs have increased over the past few years and medical costs can reach the thousands, so I need your help 🙏

As a family we have been privileged to offer 5 rescue goldies who IRR rescued their forever home as well as foster quite a few dogs.

We first became part of the Irish Retriever Rescue family when we adopted our first goldie Benji. His owners had seperated and IRR were asked to find him a new home. Benji was one of the lucky ones, many of the dogs IRR rescue have either faced abuse, are ex breeding dogs, have health issues or sadly have been dumped!

Sadly we recently lost our 4th goldie Lola to rainbow bridge and so in her memory along with Benji, Cassie and Smiley boy Woody who are also at rainbow bridge and Molly our current rescue girl I'd like to help IRR by raising some money, so they can keep rescuing the dogs like this young boy who need them.

Aware of the cost of living crisis I've set a small target of £500 and truly appreciate all donations.
