National Three Peaks Challenge · 2 August 2024

People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments. Research is the only way to turn this hope into reality. Combining patient stories and scientific expertise, we fund projects that have a real impact, reducing side-effects, cutting treatment costs and ultimately improving outcomes.

Story

We are heading off on our 3 Peaks Challenge from 2nd August 2024 to 4th August 2024 in aid of PROSTATE CANCER RESEARCH.

Bex & Sal have decided to take part in a little challenge! Partly to celebrate us turning 40 but mostly to challenge ourselves and raise money for a charity close to both our hearts.

Sally's dad lived with and fought prostate cancer for 5 years before passing away in 2021 and Bex's dad is currently receiving treatment for prostate cancer, so the charity seemed an obvious pick to support.

We have been friends for almost 17 years, so will be adding this memory to the many we already have behind us, no doubt celebrating with a glass of something cold once we complete.

The challenge is to summit all three peaks in 24hrs! Considered one of Britain's toughest outdoor challenges, the National 3 peaks Challenge takes in the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowden (1,085m). Over the course of two days, we willl trek around 26 miles and ascend to a total height of almost 3,000m.

We hope our high levels of competiviness & determination are enough but if not having your bestie with you should get us through!

Any donation you can spare is massively appreciated!

Thank you so much. Bex & Sal xx

Prostate Cancer Research are dedicated to creating brand new prostate cancer treatments. Prostate cancer is now the most diagnosed cancer in the UK and 11,500 men die from the disease every year. People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments, and research is the only way to turn this hope into reality.

Their vision is clear; a world where people are free from the impact of prostate cancer. I’m part of #TeamPCR because I share this vision. Will you help me support their research?
