On May 25th 2025, my partner James & I along with our friend Rob will be attempting the Edinburgh marathon for The Worst Girl Gang Ever Foundation, a charity Laura Buckingham and I co-founded.

5 years ago, I found out at a routine scan that my baby had no heartbeat. I was devastated and couldn't believe the lack of support available.

For me, the hardest part was feeling so alone - because no one talks about this, you can start to believe that your grief is disproportionate to your loss.

I wrote about my experience in the hope of letting others know that they weren't alone, it was published by the metro & I met Laura 'Big Balls' Buckingham - we started a podcast, wrote a book and created a community.

This community is FULL of incredible warrior women, battling the darkest days and most painful of experiences, side by side. What has inspired me the most is that, despite their own pain, they are ALWAYS willing to support each other, in our whats app community groups of around 500 people, on average 2000 messages are exchanged every week, with advice, info & most often, total love.

You are a lifeline to each other and I feel immensely proud to have, alongside Laura, facilitated such a strong and supportive network.

But more than that. I have had a rough few years and The Girl Gang have been there for me, with love, understanding and hilarious memes.

Raising money for TWGGE will help us support more people, expanding what we offer and creating new initiatives and plans.

The Worst Girl Gang Ever is not just a cause close to my heart, it's part of my identity. I am so lucky to have met such incredible women on this journey and have been so privileged to offer a tiny flicker of light in the darkest times.

In other news, I am not looking forward to actually running this marathon I have banned the word 'sub' from my vocab and I hope to make it to the finish line, your support will certainly help!
