Story
Hi
The email dropped. I’m invited to run the London Marathon. My first marathon ever!
At first I was thrilled, then reality set in. The training through winter in the dark and cold, the risk of injury, the long time away from home.
But the chance to help children gain an education keeps me going and gives every mile meaning. My father passed away two years ago and he was always passionate about supporting education. We made a donation from his estate to Pratham, and running this marathon feels like a way to continue his legacy.
I’m running the London Marathon 2026 to support Pratham, an incredible charity working to make sure children and young people across the developing world have the chance to learn and to thrive.
For over 30 years, Pratham has been reaching people who are so often left behind. Their work is simple but powerful:
• Helping over 75 million children build strong foundations in reading, writing and maths
• Preparing more than 200,000 young people for work through practical skills training
• Supporting over 50,000 women to return to learning, many stepping into a classroom for the very first time
By taking on this marathon, I’m helping Pratham reach even more children, young people and women with life-changing opportunities.
If you can, please support my run. Your donation will help unlock potential, one learner at a time.
Thank you so much.
