As I turn 50 this May, I’ve been reflecting on how fortunate I’ve been, especially the role education has played in my life.

At home, I see this every day through our daughter Siya, who genuinely loves learning (she often jokes she’d happily study for a living). She’s been fortunate to have every opportunity to do so —something many girls around the world don’t.

To mark this milestone birthday, I’m launching “50 for 50”—a personal initiative to support 50 girls through 4 years of education through CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education).

When you educate a girl, everything changes.

Education doesn’t just transform one life—it creates lasting change for families and entire communities. Many girls supported by CAMFED go on to mentor and support others, creating a multiplier effect that extends far beyond the initial support.

This is what makes this so meaningful: it’s not just about helping 50 girls—it’s about creating impact that continues well beyond that.

Supporting one girl for one year costs approximately:

£165 / $220

That means:

• £165 / $220 → supports 1 girl for a year

• £660 / $880 → supports 1 girl through 4 years

• £1,320 / $1,760 → supports 2 girls through 4 years
