Football Tournament · 20 June 2026

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

On the 4th of March 2023 we unfortunately lost our dear friend Ben to his battle with his mental health. Ben was one of the best people we, his friends, ever had the pleasure of knowing and his loss has been felt by us all.

After the success of the past two tournaments, we are again hosting 'The Ben Hope Memorial Tournament' in Ben's memory this summer. Over the two years we have raised over £7000 helping fund hundreds of life saving calls for CALM.

Our school, St George's Junior School Weybridge, have kindly agreed to host the tournament again on the afternoon of the 20th of June. Below are the details:

Title: Ben Hope Memorial Tournament

Date: 20th June 2025

Location: Sports Field, St George's Junior School Weybridge. KT13 8NL

The Ben Hope Memorial Tournament is a charity 5-a-side football tournament dedicated to the fight against suicide. This event is designed to raise vital funds and awareness for mental health causes, particularly focusing on suicide prevention. The tournament supports the charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

Key Highlights:

Teams: We are aiming for as many teams as possible from all ages 16+.

Format: The tournament takes place in the afternoon, with teams competing in a 5-a-side format. Entry fees will be £5 a player.

Venue: All matches are played on the top field of St George's College Weybridge.

Objective: Beyond the competition, the event aims to bring people together, raise funds, and create awareness about mental health challenges.

Trophy Presentation: Players have the opportunity to lift the Ben Hope Memorial Cup.

Family-Friendly: We'd love for all the family to come along to watch even if you would not like to play. There will be a chance to win great prizes in our raffle.

Ultimately we hope that the tournament provides a powerful platform to unite Old Georgians, football fans and all of Ben's friends and family and contribute to conversations on causes that matter. By playing football and standing against suicide, we will remember Ben by doing one of the things he loved most.
