Story
On Monday 11 May 2026, Irena Osborne and Beth Hancock will be one of 20 intrepid teams racing across the county in a bid to be crowned the first ever winners of Race Across Oxfordshire, while raising vital funds for Homeless Oxfordshire.
With no phones, limited money and a series of tasks to complete along the way, the 10-hour challenge (inspired by the BBC’s Race Across the World) will test their teamwork, resilience and, quite possibly, their patience!
Homeless Oxfordshire is the county’s largest not-for-profit provider of accommodation for people experiencing homelessness. They also provide a wide range of specialist support services beyond bricks and mortar. Their residents are mothers, brothers, aunties, cousins. They are artists, cooks, teachers, veterans. The residents' lives have been shaped by trauma and disadvantage, and Homeless Oxfordshire offer an open door when they need it most. The support of Homeless Oxfordshire help people rebuild their lives.
