Story
Our "Brilliant" Idea:
Okay, so here's the thing. My brother (George) and I, in what might have been a spur of the moment, having never done a triathlon in our lives, signed up to participate in the Ironman 70.3 Cascais on 21st October 2023. That's a 1.9km sea swim (without a float), a 90km bike ride (no, it's not downhill), followed by a 21.1km hilly run.
Blood & sweat have gone into our training for the past 5 months... the tears will come as we still have 4 weeks left of training.
Why On Earth Are We Doing This?
Good question! It’s not just for the epic tan lines or the potential to wear lycra. As much as George loves too. Sadly, 12 months ago our Dad experienced first hand having Thymic Cancer.
After witnessing our amazing Dad go through 5 intense rounds of chemotherapy and a 12-hour operation at the Royal Brompton, we saw the relentless strength Dad had and the unwavering support of charities like ThymicUK. So I guess this is a way for us to show support to him and charities like ThymicUK, who help people going through similar tough times, but making it that little bit better.
What does the money go towards?
All the money will go to ThymicUK. To help boost awareness, supporting people suffering with Thymic cancer and of course, help find a cure, as it is a really rare type of cancer.
How can you help:
Donate - We'll cycle faster for each donation... Maybe. No promises. On a serious note, any donation would be greatly appreciate.
Share our page - Tell your mates. Your colleague. Your dog. Everyone should know about our questionable decisions and this very important cause.
Stalk Us:
Watch two brothers push their limits (and sanity) on our social media. You'll get to see sweaty selfies and the occasional lycra shot.
Cheers,
A.Biff & G.Biff
