Story
Having recently received a diagnosis of bowel cancer I have decided that in line with my previous 'challenges' that this is also something that can be used to raise money for a worthy cause!
I therefore bring to you my sponsored colon removal and ileostomy!
Having first been to the doctors on the 6th June 2023 due to some irregular bowel movements I find myself here 6 weeks later awaiting surgery due to a cancerous growth in my sigmoid and a large benign growth at the top of my ascending colon. I am hoping that this surgery will be performed before the end of August and would love to reach my goal before going under the knife.
This is obviously not something to celebrate, but without the relentless work of the NHS and Cancer charities this would have been curtains for me not so many years ago. Not only has treatment progressed but more importantly screening and diagnosis methods have come on leaps and bounds along with awareness.
This awareness is where I come in. I am often told that I overshare, but if my story can encourage just one person to to talk about their poo with their doctor and lead to early diagnosis I would be thrilled.
My full story can be read on the blog that I have started writing and will continue to update regularly. A bit of a warning my flippant approach may not be everyone's cup of tea and I realise how devastating this disease is but it is my way of coping. I dont mean to offend or belittle anyone with this approach but hopefully a frank and perhaps humorous account is the incentive that you need to tackle this yourself.

For those who appreciate my story and the hard work of those researching cancer it would be really great if you could show this with a small donation. Not only will it make me smile, but quite genuinely it could save someone's life. For those that dont appreciate my story, a big donation will make me smile more!
