Story

YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY FIRST RESPONDERS...

Thank you for looking at our fundraising page for the Biggleswade and Sandy community first responder group.

Community first responders are professional VOLUNTEERS across the East of England who attend life threatening 999 calls in our local area. We often are first on scene prior to the ambulances arrival and able to provide vital life-saving care until the ambulance crews arrive."

- We are a group of potentially life-saving volunteers who have been trained by East of England Ambulance Service and are supported by the East of England Ambulance Service NMA phones (used to allocate, give information to, and map our volunteers to 999 calls) and additional volunteers uniform.

- Funding could help us to recruit more volunteers through awareness days and events which in turn will help us provide more local cover for 999 medical emergencies within your area.

- Donations may enable us to deliver free public awareness training in our local communities through the EEAST Heart scheme, which teaches the public essential life-saving skills (CPR and AED usage) so they can response quickly and appropriately in an emergency.

- Funds may provide realistic training aids to prepare our professional volunteers for real life-scenarios, our volunteers are given as much information as the person who calls 999 can provide, but we never really know what emergency situation we are going to be walking into until we arrive on scene. Practicing for lots of different scenarios helps us make our amazing volunteers the professional community responder volunteers that support your local area today.
