London to Brighton Cycle Ride 2024 · 15 September 2024 ·

Throughout 2024 Kingswood Learning and Leisure have pledged to raise £10000 for the Youth Sport Trust though donations, events and activities across our network of outdoor activity centres across the UK.

Story

A few of us will be taking on the 55 mile route from London to Brighton on Sunday 15th September 2024; all in aid of the Youth Sport Trust.

This charity proactively tackles the mental and physical health crisis at it's root; empowering young people with life-changing opportunities and access to healthy habits.

Why support Youth Sport Trust?

There is a crisis in young people's wellbeing, with rising numbers reporting symptoms of anxiety and depression, alongside a decline in levels of physical activity.

What's more, children from disadvantaged backgrounds are less likely to access the benefits of sport and play. The facts are bleak:

- 1 in 5 children and young people in England have a probable mental health disorder

- 1 in 5 children in England are overweight or obese by the time they are five years old

- 83% of parents believe that children are spending too much time online and not enough with each other in person.

We are fundraising to support the vital work being delivered by the Youth Sport Trust to help to reclaim play and sport in children's lives. Together we can build a brighter future where every child enjoys the life-changing benefits of play and sport.
