Story
We are Charlie and Henry, two untrained 17 year olds with no background in endurance sport, and we are attempting to cycle 150.9 miles (~250km) in a single day, to raise money for the school bursary.
Our journey will start in Gonville and Caius college, Cambridge (where Thomas Gresham was educated, whom our charity is named after), before going to Magdalen college, Oxford (where our schools founder was educated). From Oxford, we will ride to St Paul’s cathedral, where we will end. The route is roughly two thirds concrete or tarmac, with the rest consisting of dirt and gravel. The route has moderate to steep relief.
We are doing this to raise money for the Thomas Gresham bursary fund. The fund aims to provide full bursaries to the highest achieving pupils who are in need of financial aid. By doing this, we can expand access to a world class St Paul’s education whilst removing socioeconomic barriers.
