I am thrilled to be fundraising for the Hospice Of St Francis (Berkhamsted) by participating in the Brighton Marathon 2025. On April 6, 2025, I will be running to raise funds for this incredible cause. The Hospice helps 2,000 local people to live their precious lives well. Their free care, only 20% funded by the NHS, for people managing, or recovering from, serious illness has many forms – care at the Hospice, at home, or in their Spring Centre - and is defined by each person's need. They ‘give life back’ by improving symptoms and helping people to achieve personal goals, whilst for others they make the end of life the best it can be. They’re also available for loved ones and children affected by loss, helping them to rebuild their lives and live through grief. Graded outstanding by the CQC (2022), the charity cares for a person or family unit for however long it is needed – days, weeks, months or years.

However, only 20% of its funding is through the NHS - the remaining 80% is paid from charitable donations alone!
