In April 2026, I attended an event in Dewsbury hosted by SADAQAH JARIYAH , and I left feeling truly inspired by the vision they are working so hard to bring to life for our community and future generations.

SADAQAH JARIYAH currently provides essential facilities and support for burial purposes, serving families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. They are now aiming to take this service further by purchasing and developing a dedicated property in the local area — a project expected to cost approximately £1 million including purchase and development costs.

The goal is to create a complete centre that will provide learning facilities, training facilities, and multiple burial-related services all under one roof. This will remove the need for families to travel from place to place during emotionally challenging times and will help provide comfort, dignity, guidance, and support when it is needed most.

What stood out to me most was the long-term benefit this project will have for future generations. It is not only about providing burial services; it is also about education, understanding, and preserving the knowledge and practices surrounding Muslim funeral services in a respectful and organised way. This centre will become a place where people can learn, support one another, and ensure these important services continue to develop for years to come.

After attending the event, I felt compelled to offer my voluntary support whenever needed because I genuinely believe this is a cause that will benefit so many families within our community.
