Story
My Grandad, Bill Cove, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2022 when he was 92. He died on 31st July following a fall probably caused by disorientation and lack of balance caused by the disease. Although it was harrowing at the time, he still knew and loved us, he could still do some little daily tasks and enjoyed music, TV, sport and politics. Others are not so lucky- we also ‘lost’ my Grandma, Betty Cummings, in 2020 to this disease. She would stare at walls all day and forget who we were. Many people develop Altzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia at a much younger age and the suffering that it causes to victims and families is immeasurable. It is likely to touch all of us with a family member or friend in due course.
I am doing a Memorial Memory Walk in London on tge 6th Oct 2024 with my Mum and Bill's wife, my Grandma who is also in her 90's, to help fight this dreadful disease.
Please give what you can. If you would like to give cash or do a bank transfer without fees please contact Sarah Cove or myself directly.
Thank You.
Bill Cove 1929-2024 RIP
