Story

This year I am Men’s Captain at the Herefordshire Golf Club and part of my captaincy is to raise money for charity. As a local retired Veterinary Surgeon I wanted to choose a charity that was close to my heart and involved with the farming community. So have chosen We Are Farming Minds. https://www.wearefarmingminds.co.uk/.

£9K has already been raised through an online auction/ raffles and charity competitions at the club by the men and ladies sections. It would be wonderful to break through the £11K. Having received so much generous sponsorship this year, it is my turn to repay that goodwill and put in an extra effort. So my final fund raising event of the year is to cycle from Hereford to Aberystwyth, approximately 95 miles in one day. No electric bikes!!

I am going to be joined by 2 current Veterinary partners at Belmont Farm and Equine, Matthew Pugh and Andrew Cooke. Also Mervyn Thomas a local farmer. This charity is very dear to all our hearts as we have all known people in the farming and veterinary community that have struggled with their mental health, and want to support the work of this great charity.
