Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am Billy and me and my friend Harry will be running the Great Bristol Half Marathon for charity Medevac Frontline they are a specialized UK-based charity that deploys highly trained NHS paramedic volunteers to, or provides training for, areas affected by conflict, humanitarian disasters, or major emergencies overseas.
Key aspects of what they do include:
Frontline Medical Care & Evacuation: They provide emergency pre-hospital care and safe, intensive-care-level transportation (medevac) for injured patients, often in hostile or, challenging, and remote environments.
Capacity Building & Training: They conduct "train-the-trainer" programs for local frontline ambulance services and medical professionals, focusing on mass casualty management, trauma, and advanced life support (e.g., in Ukraine, Syria, and Kosovo).
Specialized Response: They specialize in responses to complex scenarios, including chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear (CBRN) or explosive attacks, as well as earthquake rubble rescue and swift water rescue.
Strategic Partnerships: They are verified as a Type 1 Mobile (Medevac) team with the World Health Organization (WHO) Emergency Medical Team (EMT) initiative and act as partners to the UK-EMT.
In short, Medevac Frontline bridges the gap between the point of injury and definitive hospital care in high-risk environments while helping local communities build long-term medical resilience.
