Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge

Our vision is that Plymouth is a city of opportunity where no child's life is dictated by poverty. Our mission is to facilitate high impact long lasting projects that break the cycle of multi generational poverty in Plymouth.

Story

In September, I will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge alongside a team from Bishop Fleming, all in support of our local office’s chosen local charity for the year. For my office this is Promoting Children in Plymouth (PCiP).

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a hike covering over 24 miles, with a total ascent of over 5,000 feet, all to be completed within 12 hours. The route takes us across the landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, summiting the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. It’s a physical and mental challenge that will require determination and teamwork to finish in the time.

While the walk will be tough, it’s nothing compared to the challenges faced every day by many children in our own community. That’s why I’m doing this in aid of Promoting Children in Plymouth (PCiP) - a small local charity with a huge impact.

PCiP works to combat child and generational poverty in Plymouth, a city where many families face persistent economic hardship. Their mission is to ensure all children have the support, opportunities, and resources they need to thrive, no matter their background.

They focus on early intervention and long-term support, funding practical projects and working with schools, local authorities, and community groups. Whether it's helping provide basic essentials like school uniforms and food, or supporting educational initiatives that raise aspirations and break cycles of disadvantage, PCiP is making a meaningful difference in the lives of children across the city.

By supporting this challenge, you’ll be helping to fund vital work that empowers children, strengthens families, and builds a brighter future for Plymouth. Every donation helps PCiP continue to do what they do best – giving children the chance to reach their full potential.

If you’re able to support, no matter how small the contribution, it will be hugely appreciated – by the children and families your generosity will help.

Thank you!
