Story
My name is Billy I am 9 years old. My uncle Greg passed away unexpectedly a few months ago. Greg had down syndrome but he didn't let his disability hold him back. He loved life and enjoyed every minute of it. Greg was a volunteer at Exmouth Scope where he worked for many years. Greg was a hard worker and like to give back to the community by doing his volunteer work and even won an award for volunteer of the year which is a national award.
I am 9 years old and I have been growing my hair since I was born! I have never had short hair and now I would like to honour my uncle Greggy by cutting it off in his memory and raising money for the charity he worked hard for for so long.
Thank you.
There are 16 million disabled people in the UK. That’s one in four of us. Life is harder when you’re disabled. You're twice as likely to be unemployed, getting care is a struggle and the cost of living is higher. It’s wrong and unacceptable.
So, Billy is fundraising for Scope to create a fairer society.
We want a future that’s fair to disabled people, always. Together we’ll use our collective power to change attitudes and end the injustice.
Join Billy in making this happen. Let's end disability inequality, today.
