Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

I am running the 2026 London Marathon! Having been unsuccessful with the ballot for the last few years, I’m pleased to have the opportunity to run on the 40th anniversary of my Mum and Dad first completing the race. This is truly a bucket-list event for me and is made all the more poignant following Dad’s passing last year.

I'm fundraising for a fantastic charity called Sense, that supports people who are deafblind and those who have complex disabilities, to be understood, connected and valued. Sense believes that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.

Their experts offer personalised support through their centres, holidays and short breaks, or in people’s own homes. They are here for everyone who needs them, for as long as they need them – providing early intervention for children, helping young people access education, and supporting the transition into adulthood and beyond. Any small donation can make a huge difference.
